DESCRIPTION

The Horn of War is an ancient artifact crafted over 4500 years ago during the Battle of H'akari. It was a time of great upheaval in the land, when numerous walled city kingdoms sprang up throughout the region and began to vie for power, each struggling for superiority over the others. The Horn of War was created by a powerful shaman of one of the weaker city kingdoms named Telorin, imbuing it with powerful enchantments of strength, war, and destruction. Once it was completed, the shaman presented it to his War King or Autark in their tongue, who wielded it in battle against the armies of the opposing cities. With the power of the horn, the other armies stood no chance against them, and so the city of Telorin and its people gained dominance in the region. Over the years it has continued to grow in strength, wealth, and military might, and stands as the greatest and most feared of the walled cities of the land. The Horn of War is a highly coveted by the city kingdoms of the Lands of H'akari and is constantly sought after by their agents.

POWERS

The Horn of War was constructed from the horn of a vanquished old red dragon, adorned with gold and silver, and engraved with magical runes of strength, war, and victory. While in the user's possession, the user gains a +4 enhancement bonus to Strength, a +4 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls, and a +4 resistance bonus to all saving throws. The horn also provides the user with a +5 competence bonus to Diplomacy and Intimidate skill checks, and the benefits of the Leadership feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites.

When the Horn of War is sounded by the user prior to or during an encounter, a number of his companions and any cohorts or followers within a 60-foot radius (up to his Charisma modifier x 5) gain a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength, a +2 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls, and a +2 resistance bonus to saving throws until the end of the encounter.

The Horn of War also grants the following additional spell-like abilities.

Spell-Like Abilities (CL 20, concentration +24)

In addition, the Horn of War can be used twice per day as a greater horn of blasting without any chance of exploding.

The Horn of War is inseparably connected to the land of its creation. If it ever passed beyond the borders of the Lands of H’akari it functions only as a normal greater horn of blasting.
